There are a few reasons why I dont want the gray incoming links, so here goes:
1, They are INCREDIBLY easy to get, in fact, I wrote a google hack in the book that was published about google hacks years ago that searches for them and then of course there is roboform to fill out the inquires, I can show anyone 10+ how to get 40-50 per hour.
I am completely aware that there is value in pages with gray pagerank bars, however, I believe that this will change.
I Personally feel that sites without the gray bar internally are of better quality.
I know 100% that PR0 is not just 0 it is scaled and given a value by googles programmers according to the rest of the site and its content/links in and out ect, in fact, each pagerank notch is MUCH harder to get to, kind of like the rictor scale for earthquakes where each level is 1000 times larger than the last.
Just think about it, you certainly cannot believe that with all the sites out there int the world, and all the aspects of junk and quality, spam and not spam, tricks and treats, white hat, blue and black, ALL the millions of complexities within the internet could possibly fall into 1 of 10 categories of pagerank? Can you? No, no one reasonable could think so either, inside the pageranks that the simpletons see we have Googles internal scores within each level each site, with that being said, and my experience as a seo pro, the target level for any campaign is above gray
